CONTEXT
Canada’s Growth of Immigrants
In Canada, immigration is becoming a crucial aspect of making up its population, with a growing number of landed immigrants and permanent residents making up 23% of the population. This percentage is expected to increase to 29 to 34% by 2041, addressing the country's aging population concerns. However, despite the potential of immigration to boost the labor force, many immigrants face obstacles integrating into the job market, resulting in higher levels of poverty and unemployment.
DESIGN CHALLENGE
How might we create a solution that helps with immigrants and refugees’ job searching process in a new country?
During our designathon, we were given a challenge to find a solution to real-world problems that newcomers of Canada face.
Final solution
Avenir, a cross-platform application to help job-seekers with their job seeking process.
Within 48 hours of Western Founders’ Network Product Design Sprint, we designed a multi-platform application which acts as an all-in-one career helper.
