OVERVIEW
Redefining Social Media
Social media's lack of authenticity fosters superficial connections, leaving many feeling isolated and inadequate in a world of curated perfection. To counter this, we must create safe spaces where people can share openly without fear of judgment, enabling genuine connection and understanding.
DESIGN CHALLENGE
How might we use elements of everyday life to promote bonding and relationship-building?
During our designathon, we were given a challenge to find solution that enables us to build authentic connections and creating a sense of community in our daily routines. We took a spin to it and connect it to how social media has became a superficial tool. We decided to find a solution that can combat the isolation caused by unrealistic social media standards and cultivate genuine connections by encouraging vulnerability and openness in the digital space.
Final solution
Let’s be Foreal!
Within 40 hours, our team created fr (foreal), a platform that reimagines social interaction through genuine connections with deep, reflective prompts, inviting users to share and explore authentic experiences in a supportive community. In a world of curated highlights, "foreal" stands out by celebrating the unfiltered, real moments that define us.
The result
I am proud to say that our team made it to Top 6 Finalist, and won the Best UI Award. 🥳
